SetMirror turns a 3D scan of a location into a working twin you open in the browser: walk through it, frame shots with real lenses, plan the sun, rigging and floor plans, and share it with the whole crew.
No install. Works on Mac, Windows and iPad. Sign in with e-mail or Google.

Everything on one location
Scout, plan and brief from a single source of truth
The location stays the same for everyone: director, DP, production designer, gaffer, rigger and producer all look at the same scan, with their own tools.
Explore
Walk the location before anyone is there
Fly, orbit or walk through the scan at full resolution. Large scans stream in as you move, so a multi-gigabyte location opens in seconds.
First-person walk with floor and wall collision, or switch to a third-person view with a mannequin for scale
Click to glide to any spot, like a virtual tour
Mouse, trackpad, touch, on-screen stick and gamepad controls
Stay-inside-the-scan guard so nobody gets lost in space
Start view and Home: everyone opens the location where you want them
Camera & shotlist
Frame the film with the lenses you will actually use
Pick a camera and lens, see the exact field of view, and save each viewpoint as a numbered shot. The shotlist becomes a PDF the whole team can read.
28 sensor formats from ARRI, RED, Sony, Blackmagic, film and stills
Draggable shotlist with thumbnails, notes and pen annotations
2D plan view with camera paths and frustums, exported with the shotlist as a PDF
Copy a link to the exact camera position

Floor plans
A dimensioned floor plan, straight from the scan
Stand in the room and export a drawing. SetMirror finds the walls, rooms, doors and windows and lays them out with dimensions, an area total and a title block.
Straightened walls, tinted rooms with names and areas, outdoor areas kept separate
Door swings, windows, glass walls and furniture footprints
Metric or imperial, paper size and scale chosen for you
Export as PDF, SVG, PNG or DXF for CAD
Accuracy follows the quality and scale of your scan. Always confirm critical dimensions on site.
Measure & document
Real distances, areas and a written brief
Measure on the surfaces you see, keep notes where they matter, and record the practical limits of the location in one place.
Distance and area measurements on the scan surface, with a magnifier for precise points
Set a known length to scale the whole scan to real size, and level a tilted scan
Pinned notes with author and status, exported as CSV
Location memo: heritage rules, mains, water, toilets, internet, storage and restoration plan
Status from Draft to Booked, with project grouping
Sun & atmosphere
Know where the light will be, down to the minute
Set a date and time and the sun moves to where it really is at that location. Plan the shoot around golden hour, window light and shadows.
Real solar position from the GPS location, date and local time zone
Sun path drawn over the scan with hourly marks
Relight the scan and cast shadows from the chosen sun
North calibration, sky presets or your own panorama, and fog
Rigging & cabling
Plan the rig on the real ceiling, not on a guess
Place trusses, hoists, speakers, lights and screens, route cables along the actual surfaces and get the lengths you need to order.
Rig boxes by type with their own shapes, sizes and labels
Cable runs by waypoint or freehand, with slack, length and the stock size to order
Import a CAD, PDF or image plan and lay it flat in the scene
Add 3D models (GLB), mannequins, chroma panels and simple shapes
Export rigging and cables as DXF, CSV or JSON
And the details that matter
Built for how productions really work
Share with the crew
Invite people by e-mail as viewer or editor, or send a link anyone can open without an account. Links are short and carry the exact camera view.
Export what others need
Point clouds (PLY, LAS, PTS, XYZ), floor plans (PDF, SVG, PNG, DXF), rigging (DXF, CSV, JSON), shot frames with metadata and rendered video.
Previs objects and animation
Drop in shapes, mannequins and chroma panels, keyframe objects and the camera on a timeline, and render the move as a video.
Projects and status
Group locations into projects and move each from Draft through Shortlisted and Approved to Booked, with a note on why.
Undo and an outliner
Every edit can be undone. The outliner lists objects, rigging, plans, cables, measurements, notes and shots in one searchable tree.
Made for the whole device range
A desktop-class editor on Mac and Windows, and a touch-friendly viewer on iPad with an on-screen stick, gentle finger controls and a light-on-battery renderer.
How it works
From a scan on your drive to a shared location
Scan
Capture the location with your usual scanner or phone app and export a Gaussian splat.
Open
Drop the file or folder into SetMirror. It opens in your browser, nothing to install.
Scout and plan
Walk it, set the start view, frame shots, check the sun, measure, rig and export plans.
Share
Publish the scan encrypted to the EU or US and invite the team, or send a view link.
Security & privacy
Your location is protected material
Pre-production data is often under NDA. SetMirror is designed so the scan is not casually reachable, and you choose where it lives.
Encrypted before it leaves your machine
Published scans are split into blocks and encrypted with AES-256-GCM in your browser. Files sit in private storage with no public address.
You pick the data region
Store a location in Europe or in the United States. European data stays in the EU jurisdiction. More regions can be added for customers who need them.
Access you can control and audit
Every request is checked against who may see the location. Short-lived tokens, revocable view links, and an access log kept for 12 months.
No trackers, no AI training
No analytics, no ads, no third-party AI services, and your content is never used to train models. Delete a location or your whole account at any time.
Who it is for
One location, every department
Location managers
Document a place once, record the limits and facilities, and brief everyone from one link.
Directors & DPs
Pick lenses and angles, build the shotlist and check the light before the tech scout.
Production design & art
Measure walls, place set pieces and chroma panels, and export plans for the build.
Rigging & events
Plan trusses, hoists and cable runs, then hand over CAD-ready drawings.
Questions
Good to know
Which scans can I use?
Gaussian splat scans in LCC and LCC2 (XGRIDS), PLY, SPLAT and SOG. Large scans are streamed so they stay responsive.
Do I need an account?
Yes. You sign in with an e-mail address and password, or with Google. People you invite use their own account. A view link you create can be opened by anyone who has it, without an account.
Where is my scan stored?
On your device until you publish it. Published scans are encrypted and stored in the region you choose, Europe or the United States.
Is my scan used to train AI?
No. SetMirror does not use your content to train models and does not send it to third-party AI services.
Does it work on an iPad?
Yes. The viewer has touch navigation and an on-screen stick, and the editor adapts to the screen size. A phone is best for browsing your locations list, and a larger screen for working in a scan.
Can I get drawings out for CAD?
Floor plans, rigging and cables export as DXF. Plans also export as PDF, SVG and PNG, and point clouds as PLY, LAS, PTS and XYZ.
How accurate are the measurements?
They are as accurate as your scan. Set a known length to scale the scan to real size, and confirm anything critical on site.
